This! I have two teenagers and am re-reading this book to remind myself what they‘re going through right now. 😜 I forget how much wiring is yet to be done in their brains! 🧠

Lcsmcat When I was teaching high school a clinician at a workshop described adolescence as living in a house while it‘s being remodeled. 5y
Onceuponatime @Lcsmcat Yes, that‘s a great analogy! 5y
Hooked_on_books The most telling thing I‘ve read about studies in adolescents is their inability to recognize facial expressions of emotions. Adults can guess the correct emotion every time and teens only get half of them right. I find that extraordinary. 5y
Onceuponatime @Hooked_on_books Wow, that‘s interesting! Now I want to give my kids a test and see how they do. 😮 What I‘m learning is the there is still a big disconnect between the “emotional” brain and the “logical” brain until about age 24...so they probably wouldn‘t pass this test just yet. 😆 5y
