Psychiatrist and profiler Dr Alexander Gregory is called to help investigate a murder in a small Irish village.

Rather plodding, pedestrian, prose and 2/3 of the way through I'd already worked out who the murderer was. I'd also worked out the final big reveal early on. I might give her other series a go at some point, but I'm in no hurry to seek it out.

Bookwomble It's ok to figure out the plot points if the prose is interesting, but having to plod through turgid writing when there's no hook to keep you interested is not so good. Well done for finishing it! 2y

⭐⭐⭐ This book was just okay.
The writing was a little confusing with how the author jumped around between characters.
Right when we got to the height of the book, it dropped. I won't lie, I was SURRRRPRISED but then that was it. I really wanted more.

This was the first L J Ross book I‘ve read and what a superb introduction. Imposter had my attention from the outset and kept the perfect balance of atmosphere, story and detail. The ending was fantastic and I can‘t wait to read Hysteria now (thanks to the sneak preview at the back of Imposter). 4/5⭐️

Just finished this book. My first by this author. It was a good quick read, with a few twists in the plot but honestly a bit too predictable for me. Has anyone read any others, would you recommend?

The new series by L J Ross, author of the wonderful DCI Ryan Series. This one is set in County Mayo, Ireland and is centred around Forensic Psychologist Dr Alexander Gregory, a great character by the look of it. Always enjoy books centred around profiling, and this book is certainly no exception! This was centred around a good murder case and really enjoyed this book, can‘t wait to continue this series. Recommended.

Started the first book in L J Ross‘s new series.

If it‘s anything like her DCI Ryan Series should be very enjoyable. This series is set in County Mayo, Ireland. #SeparatedbyaPondTour
