Magnus Chase: The Complete Series
Magnus Chase: The Complete Series | Rick Riordan
3 posts | 6 read | 1 reading
Now available for the first time: all three novels from the amazing Magnus Chase series, collected in one stunning digital edition. My name is Magnus Chase. I'm orphaned and living rough on the streets of Boston. And things are about to get much worse. My day started out normally enough. I was sleeping under a bridge when some guy kicked me awake and said, 'They're after you.' Next thing I know, I'm reunited with my obnoxious uncle, who casually informs me that my long-lost father is a Norse god. And it turns out the gods of Asgard are preparing for war. Apparently, if I can't find the sword my father lost two thousand years ago, there will be doom. Doomsday, to be precise. But first I'm going to die. This is the story of how my life goes downhill from there... Magnus Chase: The Complete Series includes all three novels in the action-packed, electrifying series from Rick Riordan: The Sword of Summer, The Hammer of Thor and The Ship of the Dead

I think I‘m too obsessed with Percy Jackson and Annabeth that a new main hero, Magnus, just wasn‘t as enthralling. BUT! learning about Norse mythology was cool, we‘ve got a Muslim female warrior, a gender fluid shape-shifting child of Loki and a main hero who truly can not fight and relies more on his friends and interesting quests like a craft-off than the battles that percy had. Rick, you‘re a king of inclusivity and I love you for it.

@KatieDid927 like this...this is certainly what we want to see from our kids. Love and acceptance. Rick Riordan is straight, but he‘s apparently written some really good gender fluid characters that normalise what some kids have no direct contact with, until they do. This should count, I‘d think. If an author is openly LGBTQ great, maybe they count twice or something, but outside of that rare situation 🤷🏼‍♀️.

KatieDid927 For sure! 4y
Oldschool_millenial My mom got me one those books for Christmas some years ago--but it wasn't book one 😅. Now I want to read this series even more 4y
