This YA fiction book based on true events was such a powerful read.

Two high school students protest an assignment about Hitler and the Final Solution. The impact this has on not only the school, but the community around it shows how important it is to stand up for what's right.

“As I walk out of his room, the shock of his response morphs into fury and indignation, propelling me like a lit fuse burning through gunpowder.“ The tone of this sentence is angry because of the words the author uses to describe the character in that moment. Words like shock, fury, indignation, and gunpowder all speak to violently angry emotions. I feel sorry for emphathetic to the character, so that's the mood.

When I first came across this YA novel, I found the premise of the assignment repugnant. Learning that the story is based on real events made me ultimately choose to read this book. It‘s excellent and fast paced. Could be read in a sitting. I think this should be in every high school library.

Great dedication.
I wasn‘t sure how I‘d feel about this book but 8 chapters in it‘s good so far.

This is one of the most amazing books I‘ve ever read. When I read what the book was about, I was immediately intrigued. This book is based on a true story, about two kids who refused to do an assignment just like the one in this one. Do yourself a favor and read this book. 6/5

Inspired by a true event, this book reveals how easily a community can fracture and be divided by hate. Courageous primary characters; great secondary characters. Perfect for all high school libraries. Excellent for classroom or even family discussions. One of the most powerful books of 2020.
