1 post | 1 read
Time doesn't heal all wounds. It makes them deeper.Alfred White's only concern in life is his career. Until he meets Pacific, a mysterious man who questions Alfred's obedience to a system designed to harvest people's time.Yes. Time. Pacific seems to know the inner truth behind time, and he will share this knowledge-if Alfred will accept his mentorship for one day. But Alfred soon learns that the road to temporal knowledge is paved with death and destruction. And, as the day continues, Alfred discovers another truth: there is nothing Pacific wouldn't do for more time. Lord of Time is an exciting, thought-provoking new fantasy novel perfect for fans of The Name of the Wind and American Gods.

Not That Fairytale: a short story
Michele Amitrani

I went from 'ooo, dark fairytale retelling' to 'well snap this is not for me' by page two.

Writing style is very YA, tight first-person, heavy D&D narrator influence ('I awaken in a dark forest. There is darkness to my right, and lighted shadows to my left. I move left.').

esurient Author's intro indicates it is unpolished fiction, available for free as practice. My readerly opinion finds it more like a first-draft writing exercise and frankly unsuitable for publication. I'd rather pay money for the polished story. (edited) 4y
esurient I know you get what you get with freebies, but I did not find this one readable. I am sorry, book. 4y
