pickI read some short books this weekend! First up, a battle of the bands/gentrification tale with a bunch of were-creatures and magic. Fun! Definitely the sort of novella that feels like a bite of a world, with more story looming beyond the edges of the pages we have. Maybe there will be more one day!
pickA delightful mix of queer punk, paranormal shifters, and battle of the bands. Mixi is the leader of a pack of werecoyotes who are queer/trans found family and a punk band. When they discover their fav dive bar venue has been bought by gentrifiers, they go on a hunt to find out the culprit and save their space. I really liked how the the main group was family, band, and pack; it highlighted how each unit is an alternative family in its own way.
pickAwesome paranormal punk rock novella from the new Neon Hemlock series! Mixi and their band of werecoyotes are trying to win the Battle of the Bands when a nefarious real estate deal threatens their lifestyle. This novella is full of shifters from werewolves to weremoose and has so many fun characters and a great dose of body horror at the end. An awesome quick read to take your mind off things right now!
