Earthworm Gods Selected Scenes from the End of the World | 
This is a short story collection all related to the first 2 books in the series. My favorite one that kills me is a man from the UK who has recovered from cancer is thinking about how grateful he is to be alive for his wife and 2 girls. He‘s taking them to a long promised day at the beach. When they get there they are shocked to see nothing but sand and birds picking at flopping around fish. But then he sees it miles away. And the birds are👇🏼
Reggie starting to squawk in terror and fly towards land. He knows there‘s not enough time but he is glad they are together. He turns them around and has them kneel and says,”hey, let‘s draw in the sand.” He notices that his wife and older daughter are crying while drawing stick figures. He doesn‘t know what to do until the youngest asks if they can just hold hands. And they do and that is how they are when the wave destroys the UK. 😭 2y
