Extraordinary tale of an allegedly talking mongoose that played, scratched, bit, and joked in an isolated farmhouse on the Isle of Man during the early decades of the twentieth century. Josiffe‘s is a superb Fortean study, and he chronicles (and interprets) the events entertainingly and at length. All a hoax? Hmmm. Maybe a bit more to it than that. The best book I‘ve read during lockdown (so far).
CJRwriting I love this story. Need to check this book out ASAP. 4y

Ephemera @Mistermandolin Gef is on Twitter. I follow him. Needless to say, his tweets are quite puzzling😳 4y
Mistermandolin @Ephemera I didn‘t know that and will follow him. A fascinating case. Some fraud, but also some stuff that defies rational comprehension. A ‘familiar‘ in many ways. Josiffe‘s book is superb. 4y
