🤷🏽♀️ Just didn‘t entirely work for me. I don‘t know the conclusion was a bit contrived. It felt like it was just wedged in at the end.

Simply brilliant! This is the second in the A. L. McKittridge series and definitely just as good as the first. We follow A.L. and Rena throughout their investigation, feeling their desperation to find the little girl escalating as the days move on. It is a totally compelling story with both likeable and detestable characters thrown in the mix and an ending that had me on the edge of my seat.

The mystery was riveting and I was bouncing between characters I considered suspect. I loved that the clues pointed in multiple directions but by the end everything came together to give me a clear and cohesive picture behind the crime. I even loved that the ending wasn‘t what I was expecting and I felt fully satisfied with it. Overall, it was a suspenseful police procedural with great detectives who were fully committed to bringing about justice!
This book had me on the edge of my seat. Every time I thought I was near to figuring out who took Emma and why another twist would occur. At some point, I think I suspected pretty much everyone in the story. I lost some sleep with this book as I could not put it down.
I have not read the first book in this series, but this book works as a stand-alone.
