Set in the late 1960s in a small bush town called Moorabool, this mystery/thriller comes from two main voices- 12 year old Hal and probationary constable Mick Goodenough. Mick can‘t help using his detective skills despite his severe demotion and it‘s not long before he‘s trying to solve a budding serial killer case who is still in the prowler/animal mutilation stage. Fair warning- lots of animal violence & plenty of Aussie slang! Hard to put down!

ShelleyBooksie Thanks for the warning. I totally would have stacked this - except I hate violence against animals and I am so glad that you mentioned this! ♡ 4y
TorieStorieS @ShelleyBooksie Yeah- I had a hard time with that aspect of this one and so I was happy to spread the warning! ❤️ 4y

A captivating story of friendship and mystery with a dash of suspense thrown in. The Night Whistler kept me guessing and enthralled from page to page. A uniquely Australian voice tells of a small town filled with colorful characters, plagued with violent attacks on defenseless animals and eventually people.
