This book was slow going at first. It only picked up the pace halfway through. However, there were some good moments of suspense and unease. I never found it truly frightening though. I was also somewhat uncomfortable with the depictions of mental illness. They seem more a plot device than honest character issues.

Finally over an eye infection, so I can start enjoying #JoyousJanuary. As the rain drizzles, I think a ghost story is in order.

HAUNTING & CREEPY

❦ The first half of the book is dragging. Drama about flawed characters. Getting to know stage. Still a fast-paced read. You will be curious. What is really happening? Or what will happen? Will they kill each other? Thoughts like that. It's also a challenge, struggle is real while waiting for what will happen. At times, you'll feel bored, until you'll lose interest. Thankfully, I didn't give up!

Set in an abbey in the Carpathian Mountains, this spooky story opens up with a grisly tale about the setting for The Event. Five influencers are set to stay there and provide exclusive content for their followers. But soon things start to go horribly wrong. Not super scary but definitely creepy, this fast-paced read really has kicked off the Halloween spirit for me!! #Bookwear
