“Their yearly trick of looking new is written down in rings of grain” Phillip Larkin
“Their yearly trick of looking new is written down in rings of grain” Phillip Larkin
The poem is in the shape of the tree! Continues on the back side. By James Merrill.
I really liked this poem. It‘s called “Burning of the Christmas Greens” by William Carlos Williams. At the bottom left into the top right I especially liked “Green is a solace, a promise of peace, a fort against the cold”. The whole thing is a great juxtaposition of green and red in both bringing nature inside and then disposing of it. That it brings joy and also sadness.
