From an unforgettable new voice in suspense fiction, The Woman Outside My Door is a thrilling page-turner about a young mother who cant shake the feeling that her sons imaginary friend is putting him in very real danger, and she will stop at nothing to keep him safeperfect for fans of Lisa Jewell and Mary Kubica. All children have imaginary friends, Georgina tells herself. Its perfectly normal, and they all grow out of it in the end. But when her seven-year-old son, Cody, tells her about New Granny, the new friend hes met in the park, Georgina is instantly suspicious. Somethingcall it maternal instincttells her he isnt making it up. But maybe Georgina is losing her mind. It wouldnt be the first time, after all. And with her own mothers recent death leaving her bereft and trying to cope with life as a busy working mom, its no wonder shes feeling paranoid that Cody has invented a New Granny to replace his beloved grandmother. Her husband, Bren, becomes the voice of reason, assuring Georgina that its just a game, the product of their sons overactive imagination. But what if Codys imaginary friend is not so imaginary after all?

I tried real hard to like this book. It was well-written except for the husband. He is just ridiculous. First he tries to convince Georgina that “new“ Granny doesn't exist, then flips without warning to supporting her.
There were good dread-inducing moments, and the short chapters helped the pacing.

I'm about half way through, and I just want to kick Georgina's husband for being an idiot. At least the writer got an emotional response out of me, right?

Started reading this. Creepy “new“ Granny or an imaginary friend, which is the truth? Short chapters add to the drama.

🌟🌟🌟 I just finished this book! And it was pretty good definitely keep me engaged and wanting to know what was going on! I also really enjoyed the short chapters! Georgina‘s mother passed away a few months earlier and now her seven year old son Cody says he has a new granny who is giving him candys! Is it just an imaginary granny he‘s making up or someone real! Nobody believes her! Until one day they do!

I liked this book. It was an easy, quick read, and wasn‘t mmmm t hard to follow. The plot twist was a little over the top, but I‘m not mad about it.

I really enjoyed The Woman Outside My Door. It is a mix of suspenseful thriller and personal drama. Georgina is grieving her mother and worried about her father. There is suspense throughout the book.

Thank you Gallery Books and NetGalley for The Woman Outside My Door.

I thought this was really good. You can‘t tell if she is a reliable narrator. I was annoyed by Georgina‘s husband who kept dismissing her fears. I felt like he changed his mind a bit too quickly when he started believing Georgina‘s fears. He shouldn‘t have dismissed them so quickly to start with, but he also seemed to come around too fast, in comparison with how he‘d originally reacted. Cont in comments...

LibraryCin Even still, it kept me reading. It‘s a fast read and kept me wanting to find out what was going on. 4y
