pickNice, well written, and thus fluent read. Enard tells the story of Lakdhar, a young Moroccan from Tangier. He is caught between the tremendously magnetic but at times superficial modernity luring him into Spain, just across the Mediterranean, and the terrfyingly dogmatic but dangerous reassurance of radical Islam. Lakdhar avoids the latter by falling in love and above all reading books. A praise to books as mind openers and fighters of evil!
