This book is trying but... It's supposed to be a counting book, but there are TONS of references that are too complicated, "honorary doctorate," "sensory-processing disorder," etc. Instead of interesting stories we get boring facts (like the names of physics awards someone has won) so there can be a tenuous connection to a number. The women featured are 3/4 white. I'm disappointed it doesn't mention Megan Rapinoe's an out queer athlete.

This inspirational B book is a great addition to any classroom. It includes 20 influential women- such as Greta Thunberg and Zaha Hadid- and the impact they‘ve had on the world. This book of diverse women can be used to motivate the young girls within our classrooms to follow their dreams.

UDL 8.1- Heighten salience of goals and objectives aligns with this book because of the goals it can inspire students to reach. EL strategy 28- Provide biographies of significant men and women from different countries also aligns with this book. 4y

Ericaj This book is great to use for Women History Month. Teachers can do a read-aloud with this book, and students write a mini paragraph on one of the famous ladies. 4y
DrSpalding Love picture book biographies that include a bunch of wonderful individuals for children to be inspired by. English learner strategy 28 is absolutely perfect and you selected another high-quality resource. Well done. Remember that with anthologies like this, you can dip in and dip out of the text. 4y
