This is book 2 in Anders‘ Survival Instincts series. I love a book in an extreme weather setting, particularly cold ones. This one is set in the wilds of Alaska. I enjoyed Leo and Elias‘ story more than Angel and Ford‘s in the first one. I found Elias so appealing and just wanted to hold him. ☺️ Most of the suspense comes from the MCs trying to survive the elements while on the run, but they did find opportunities to warm up. 😉 #romanticsuspense

Uncharted is my #lastfirst read for 2021/2022. I had hoped to finish it before the ball dropped, but not enough time.

robinb This one‘s on my TBR! 😊 3y
Bookzombie @robinb 🙂 Did you read the first one? 3y
robinb @Bookzombie I did and while it wasn‘t a 5⭐️ for me, I did enjoy it. I‘ve read some of the author‘s previous books. 3y

Bookzombie @robinb I have only read Whiteout by Anders so far. It wasn't 5 star for me either, but I also enjoyed it. I really like books set in extreme settings. 3y
robinb @Bookzombie I like those settings too. Do you have any recommendations? 😊 3y
Bookzombie @robinb For non-fiction, definitely Into Thin Air, The White Darkness, and The Indifferent Stars Above: The Harrowing Saga of the Donner Party. Oh and Alive: The Story of the Andes Survivors. For fiction, Tisha (I have loved this one since middle school), Between Shade of Gray (WWII), Moon Of The Crusted Snow, Whiteout by Greg Rucka (graphic novel). 3y
robinb @Bookzombie thank you!! These sound great! 😊👍 3y

Mehso-so

More a romance with adventure (running for their lives in Alaska) than a romantic suspense, this book is clearly part of a connected series with overarching plot elements. I think I would have enjoyed it more with more of the wider plot - or if I had read the first book first. This is an insta-love story by its very nature, so of that's not something you like, this book is probably not for you.

A so-so for me, but I can definitely see this👇

ScientistSam being other people's yum. The description of Alaska was great and I loved the storyline happening back in town with Old Amka! 3y
Bookzombie I‘ve read the first one and have this one on my shelf to get to. They are definitely all going to be very connected from what I remember. (edited) 3y
ScientistSam @Bookzombie maybe I'll go read the first one now, lol! 3y

This was a really fun and entertaining romantic suspense survival book. I loved the rough survival plot line and the very interesting background of the main characters. Elias was easily my favorite character aside from his dog. I thought Leo was very relatable and that their connection was genuine and felt real.

I finished my June #DoubleSpin yesterday. Uncharted is romantic suspense. Leo and her teammates are on a mission to find a man they believe has the last bit of a dangerous virus. This book has a lot of action and Leo and Elias are pretty much just surviving through the whole book. Their love comes very quickly and under a stressful situation. I really like the characters in this series.

I'm so close to getting a bingo for #BookSpinBingo.

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! 3y
Bookzombie I‘m looking forward to this one! 3y
