From the author of the Pearls Before Swine comic strip and New York Times bestselling Timmy Failure series comes a laugh-out-loud, heartwarming, full-color graphic novel series about a quirky townjust right for young readers starting to read longer books! Wendy the Wanderer has lived in Trubble Town her whole life but never had the chance to go exploring. For this reason, she thinks she was definitely misnamed. Her dad likes to know where she is to make sure shes safe, so shes never been anywhere on her own. Then, her dad leaves on a trip and the babysitter doesnt reinforce all the usual rules. Or any of the usual rules! Suddenly, Wendy is free to do what she wants, and what she wants is to live up to her nameand find Trubble. Turns out, theres lots going on in Trubble Town. As she encounters endearingly goofy animals and hilariously hapless townsfolk, Wendys very first adventure takes more twists and turns than she could have ever expected. She learns some really valuable life lessons and even teaches a few of her own.

Mehso-so

This one was a bummer. I enjoy Pearls Before Swine and loved the first Timmy Failure book but this swing at the Dog Man crowd was a total miss. I'm going to pass this along to my eight year old nephew (admittedly the intended audience) to get a second opinion though.

everlocalwest Update: it is "funnier than Dog Man" and "the best book ever" per the 8 and 10 yo nephews. So there you have it. 3y

Pickpick

I absolutely adore the Timmy Failure series and this graphic novel is everything I hoped it would be and more. It‘s ridiculous, it hilarious, and there are nods to Pastis‘ other work. The world need more squirrels helping chihuahuas and cats find true love. ❤️

When Wendy the Wanderer‘s babysitter is more interested in her social media than she is in, you know, babysitting, Wendy does exactly as you would expect—she wanders. While she‘s wandering around town she meets a squirrel & decides to give that squirrel not a nut but rather…sugar. You know this isn‘t going to go well…& it doesn‘t. Hilarity, crimes, a chihuahua-cat love story, adventure & more aplenty in this fun MG graphic novel. On sale 9/21.
