The book talked about toxic cultures in churches—how they form and function. It was really helpful for me to think more about toxic leadership through the many examples. The book also described how churches can form goodness cultures too. And the sort of leadership a culture of Tov will have. This is my second book by McKnight and I plan to read more.

Scot begins by talking about how we create toxic cultures in our church environments and what contributes to the formation of and sustaining of those types of environments, as well as why they are harmful. After presenting the bad news, he transitions to what we can focus on to create church environments that reflect the heart of Jesus for people. It‘s such a good book. Practical, relevant and sound. Highly recommend.

I really enjoyed this book! For anyone who practices Christianity and follows Jesus and is a part of a church culture, it‘s a valuable read.
