Good grief, this shattered me! An absolutely gut-wrenching portrait of grief and attempting to figure things out when the other part of you goes missing. My heart ached for Ruth and I wish her nothing but the best. 😭

Thanks again, Helen! 😘

squirrelbrain It is utterly 😭 isn‘t it? But beautifully written. Glad you ‘liked‘ it, if that‘s the right way of putting it! 1y
MicheleinPhilly @squirrelbrain I loved it! I‘m a bit of a masochist anyway. 🤪 1y

I reward myself after walking up the hill by visiting the little free library on the way home. These are pretty books that will actually make it to my shelves instead of my storage container downstairs filled with books.

Book 13 of 2021 - I‘ve been looking forward to this for ages and it didn‘t disappoint. So raw, so honest, so real. Jessie Cave can do no wrong in my eyes. 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lots of reviews incoming, as I‘ve finished a few books recently….

Ruth loses her older sister when in her mid-twenties. Whilst this dipped in the middle (it all went a bit millennial so don‘t read if that annoys you! 😁) I found it to be a realistic portrayal of grief. It‘s all very messy, with dysfunctional relationships (one in particular) and bad decisions (including bad sex) but that‘s real life. A solid 4 stars.
