8 posts | 2 read
The bestselling step-by-step guide that will show you how to break the cycle of fear and cure your feelings of panic and anxiety. My heart beats too fast. My hands tremble and sweat. I feel like there's a weight on my chest. My stomach churns. I have terrible headaches. I can't sleep. Sometimes I can't even leave my house.... These common symptoms of anxiety are "minor" only to the people who don't suffer from them. But to the millions they affect, these problems make the difference between a happy, healthy life and one of crippling fear and frustration. In Hope and Help for Your Nerves, Dr. Claire Weekes offers the results of years of experience treating real patients--including some who thought they'd never recover. With her simple, step-by-step guidance, you will learn how to understand and analyze your own symptoms of anxiety and find the power to conquer your fears for good.

I‘m working on this. I hope it helps! Not on sleeplessness, but on anxiety. 🤞

SqueakyChu This book really helped me a lot. I‘ve learned to focus on my body‘s reaction to anxiety rather than the cause of the anxiety. I found ways in which I can actually control my anxiety. 3y

It‘s tough going through this book, but I‘m getting some insight into nervous suffering (an outdated expression for mental health issues). I like this counselor‘s approach to dealing with anguish. I will try to work her ideas into resolving some issues with which I‘m now dealing — not about loss, but more about anxiety.

I think I know how this works. If you‘re concentrating on your physical symptoms, you cannot simultaneously focus on the actual object of your fears. I‘m going to try this!

I do NOT like feeling my heart beat! I‘d just like to know it‘s beating without my being aware of it. 😃

Cazxxx I COMPLETELY relate to this! 3y

This is an older book. A friend gave it to me to try to help with my recent feelings of anxiety. I‘ll give it a try.

humouress Wishing you luck with it 3y
SqueakyChu @humouress Thanks! We‘ll see what happens! I think so much of the anxiety I am now experiencing started with the onset of pandemic. I‘m sure I‘m not alone in this. I hate this feeling! 3y
CaramelLunacy Definitely not alone in that! 3y
