A Russian love story written with the amazing style of Turgenev it's a guaranteed pick. In my opinion, it's not the best of his works and the end is quite predictable, you just seat and wait for it to inevitably happen but while still enjoying the story. I would have loved if Turgenev went more political and/or philosophical, since the characters gave him the opportunity to do either, but it's purely a love story.

A story of star-crossed lovers in 19th century Russia. This is a good book, if a bit predictable. I liked it, but I would have absolutely loved it in my teens or early twenties. As is it is, I prefer Fathers and Sons by Turgenev.
