Here‘s my review for a book I didn‘t finish.

I decided to start this book. Will I DNF this one or will I finish it? It‘s hard to say. I‘m finding this book interesting but I‘m not liking the long chapters for each of the characters so far. I feel like the long chapters are going to make the story drag and I don‘t like it when books drag. I‘m going to keep reading and see if it gets better.

A company has created a technology that allows single memories to be removed, but rumors then start that some people are remembering bits of those memories. We then follow multiple characters impacted in different ways by this process and the possibility of retrieval. I struggle initially to keep all the characters straight, but once that was sorted, I enjoyed this very much. CW for trauma

Really liked this book about four people who have had a memory wiped, plus one woman who works at the company that performs the memory wipes. When the customers have an opportunity to get their memory back, it‘s really interesting how each responds. Couldn‘t put this one down.

Speculative fiction about memory and what it would mean to have the ability to remove unwanted memories. Fascinating.

Impressive. Beautifully written. Thoughtful.
Tell Me an Ending moves with a British sensibility — the tone and pace are not that of an action-packed Americanized idea of sci-fi. It is a speculative slow burn and I love it for that. In fact, I‘m amazed at what Harkin has gotten away with here — the book seems to break most of modern day‘s publishing rules. Excited to see what she does next!

Next up on top of the stack: Tell Me an Ending by Jo Harkin. I just came across this one while I was searching for more comparbles and thought it sounded similar enough. This wasn‘t originally the next read on my list, but plans change. 😅

Tell me an ending was pretty good! I‘d give it 3.5 out of 5 stars! I would read another book by the author because the idea was pretty good!

A mix of Endless Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and a mystery/detective novel. I really enjoyed the moral and philosophical themes too. It‘s broken into 5 parts with a chapter in each part focused on one character. Can‘t say too much about it without giving things away.

My first Book Hookup subscription box from @strandbookstore . I‘m looking forward to enjoying all of these books and goodies in my Sci-Fi & Fantasy box, especially the signed copy of Tell Me An Ending by Jo Harkin.
