We're in Numbers now for the #BibleBuddyRead ?

Here are some thoughts from my journaling: I love that it specifically mentions in chpt. 1 that they did as the Lord commanded "on that very day" &, in v. 54, that they "did everything just as the Lord commanded Moses."

They didn't miss out on what God had for them in this moment because their obedience was instantaneous & complete. ⬇️

I thought I'd share this app, First5, that I use with everyone who's part of the #BibleBuddyRead 😊 It's run by Proverbs31 Ministries, and they have daily devotions for every book in the Bible! It's helped me so much with passages that are harder to understand or to see familiar passages in a new way!

I haven't been posting much, but I am keeping up with the readings and enjoying it a lot 💜

Butterfinger Chapter 21 was also used to say having slaves was acceptable according to the Bible. Which was wrong. The Old Testament was righteous and the law, but the New Testament was full of grace and mercy. Is owning another person ever mentioned in the New Testament? Just where my brain went as I was reading. 2y

I've loved the first 2 days of the #BibleBuddyRead hosted by @BookBabe 😊 I'm reading it first thing in the morning & it's made such a difference!

Thought I'd share what I journaled while reading Genesis 5:

I love to imagine the lives behind all of the names listed here. It helps me stay engaged & remember that each name is a son or daughter of God who once lived. What were their hopes? What kinds of thoughts & dreams & fears did they have? ⬇️

I mean, Adam lived 930 years!! I don't think I'd like to live that long, but imagine what you could do for the Kingdom with a life that rich and long!

And imagine what it would mean to these individuals - who likely had moments of feeling insecure or insignificant - that their name is recorded in God's Word & that, hundreds & hundreds of years later, people are reading about their lives. ⬇️ 2y
