Enjoying this book so far. After working with animals myself I know the horrors and pains of not only the animals but people you come across in the animal world. This book gives me vibes of This is Going to Hurt Animal Edition with the caring fantastastical job that so many children grow up wanting to do and the sh*tshow honest reality that it is. #truestory #autobiography #animaljobs #veterinary

Pickpick

This is definitely *not* James Herriot and it‘s certainly the unfiltered truth, as the tagline claims.

Covering subjects such as bovine TB, euthanasia, vaccinations, pet insurance and various horrible diseases, it wasn‘t an easy read but I learned a lot. The author comes across as a thoroughly decent (and funny) guy, which helps.

This was a #netgalley ARC and was published last week in the UK.

squirrelbrain The book might drive you mad @Megabooks but if you ever read it I‘d be intrigued to know the differences between the UK and the US, particularly when it comes to surgery decision-making around costs, and what drugs can be prescribed. 2y
Megabooks Wow…sounds interesting. Definitely not like the American ones I‘ve read! I‘ll stack it, and hope I can find it here. Thanks! Here‘s an American one I liked, fwiw. 2y
CarolynM I received your parcel. Thank you, it's very thoughtful if you. I have put it aside for opening in a couple of weeks.🙂😘 2y
squirrelbrain You‘re welcome @CarolynM ! 2y
squirrelbrain I‘ll keep an eye out for that one @Megabooks - thanks! 😁 2y
