pick2nd bk from a series curated by bernadine evaristo of modern black Br writers. This was a compelling legal thriller set in the 90s abt a talented black female criminal barrister from a working class background. When a lucrative corporate fraud bruef is given to her, she is subject to prejudice from members of the bar but of more concern an affluent client who seems too good to be true. A page turner. Will look for more from the author + the series
