I‘m a little over halfway through and I‘m just shaking my head. I don‘t think things are going to end well for Jewelann.

If you enjoy stories about stories, then this book is for you.
“I can‘t lie; I‘m gettin tired.”
I wish people would admit that more often.
Listening while I work. Thank you @swynn
Smaller Sister is graphic novel that communicates the importance of sisterhood and self-awareness. I think this book would be a great addition to Health Education classes. It highlights a variety of pressures that pre-teens and teens face in their lives at school and home. This book and its themes are necessary for young readers.

Adorable ghost story that‘s funny and encouraging. Just because Wee Boo is cute, doesn‘t mean she cannot be scary. I had a fun time with this picture book.

Where the Crawdads Sing had a slow start for me, but Kya‘s coming-of-age story, the found family, and the murder trial kept me intrigued and I‘m happy to have finished the book. I suggest it for the more patient readers that don‘t need a book to hit the ground running. ;-)

All the Lonely People has me re-evaluating what it means to be lonely and what I should intentionally be doing to reduce its presence in my life. This book has served as a gentle reminder that self-isolation is too easy of a pit to fall into.
This is a beautifully illustrated board book that showcases features of the Fall season. Guaranteed cozy bedtime read for the entire family and encourages conversation through its illustrations of various cultural events that occur during the Fall months. It will make a great addition to your library. Full review posted at https://readingbeyondthebookcover.com/october-2022-reading-wrap-up/.

Woo chile!! 42% through the book and Alix is stressing me out. -_- Her inner monologues and decisions make me itch. Although I understand why her interactions with Emira have “changed,“ it's well meant, but comes off as disingenuous or borderline performative.

4.5 Stars - I listened to the audiobook and enjoyed the story as well as the narrator‘s performance. She‘s one of my favorites, Bahni Turpin. Chef‘s kiss, perfection.
3.5 Stars
I'm not sure what it was, but I didn't swoon as much with this one as I did with Get a Life, Chloe Brown.
Beautiful art and story. I will definitely be picking up a physical copy to add to my growing children's library for my future child/children (speaking it into existence).

😩 I thought I was going to be able to finish the book during my lunch break, but there was no way I could finish the 30% I had left. Dang Overdrive! 😫 Why must you kill my joy!? 🙄 I decided not to speed read because I was enjoying the journey. Based on my liking of the 70% I did get to read, I‘m strongly considering buying my own copy. 🤔 I don‘t know if I can wait 5-6 months to borrow it again.
“Books are time travel. True readers all know this. But books don‘t just take you back to the time in which they were written; they can take you back to different versions of yourself.”
3.75 ⭐️ this book...🤔. It‘s funny how conflicted I am. If I had to choose, it would be between So-So and Pick. ‘So-So‘ b/c a majority of the book felt like being in and out of a nap on an international flight. You feel good but you keep wondering “are we there yet?”. ‘Pick‘ b/c the last 30% of book had me thinking, wanting to pick up the book and practically flew by. Give it a try. I read the physical copy along with the audiobook. 👍🏾
Giving the book a try before I watch the show 😉. #adaptation
Solid🌟 🌟 🌟 I‘ve read all of Riley Sagers books and although I enjoyed the reveal of this one more than the previous two books, I was not particularly excited about the journey to get to the omg moments.
I did not feel a strong connection to any of the characters except the main character. There were several supporting characters, but I didn‘t feel any type of way about them. Example: Is it me or did anyone else forget who George was?
I started the physical book back in April 2018 and didn‘t get around to finishing before it had to be returned to the library. Being that 2020 is my year of backlist reads, I placed a hold and was able to procure the audiobook from the library. Unfortunately, the audiobook was not the best idea. It quickly became background noise for the workday and sadly, even when I was...Continue via https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2046530741
Winding down before another busy week. I have one more day to borrow this library loan. 🤞🏾I hope I can finish it tonight.
Currently Listening to a TBR /Anticipated Reads episode of the Read or Dead podcast. by Book Riot. I‘m adding Darling Rose Gold to my TBR because the synopsis reminds me of the true story of Gypsy Rose.
Narrated by one of my favorite authors 😍 Elizabeth Acevedo. I definitely need to get me a physical copy to annotate.
The audiobook has quickly become my go-to “now listening“ at work, commuting, and while playing match 3 games :-) #listenandwork #listenanddrive #listenandplay
I'm so happy I didn't give up on this book. The narrator is doing a fantastic job with the audiobook. I have a strong feeling that I am going to enjoy reading the series more than the film #listenandwork #listenanddrive
What I found most interesting and a little agitating is how both characters felt they weren‘t worthy of being loved. I understand that both characters had their reasons for feeling this way and without these feelings, the book would have read differently. I appreciate The Kiss Quotient for showcasing how communication skills are vital and being vulnerable isn‘t always a bad thing. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I enjoyed this book. I suggest it to anyone that wants to get out of a reading slump or simply requires a quick pick me up.
I'm backtracking now to read The Kiss Quotient. I hope it's just as fun of a read.
Started Reading the Kindle edition September 19, 2017, only to reshelve it and pick it back up this month (audiobook) and not enjoy it.
I just couldn't get into the characters. They were always in each other's business trying to influence and control each other's lives. I vividly remember zoning out, especially when any of the characters would talk about what they have and the name brands. ugh, 😑. I was irritated. Not for me.
I stan (stalker + fan) for Josh Malerman!! 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾 So excited that Unbury Carol is finally available for me to devour 🍴📚😊! #UnburyCarol #JoshMalerman #stanning #library #ebook
Omg I am so excited!!! It‘s rare that I am able to check out a book when it first comes out. This book + me being off from work tomorrow=Thank you Jesus!! Hallelujah!! It‘s going to be a good time. 💃🏾 💃🏾 💃🏾
In the comics/graphic novel mood ☺️. I think I found me a new favorite author. #DougTenNepal 😉 Just finished #Cardboard and now on to #Ghostopolis.
😑 I‘m in a bad reading slump. I decided to relive my childhood by reading a random book from the Pee Wee Scouts series. I grew up collecting these at my school book fairs. 🙏🏾 praying that it gets me out of my slump. #readingslump
1st James Patterson book and definitely not my last. Twisty & engaging. Reading it myself was significantly better than listening to the #audiobook. The narrator‘s voice and cadence was equivalent to static white noise for me. It was just there. #MurderGames #Bookly #readingstats #goodreads #bookreview https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2396218221
Switching off between these three for the long weekend. Hopefully *fingers crossed* I will finish them all. #weekendreads
I was unable to read as much as I intended to throughout the work week and this is a perfect opportunity for me to participate in my first mini-readathon 🎉 . Since I‘m a moody reader (if you can‘t already tell by the number of books I normally have in my READING stack), I‘ve chosen two books to consume in my 8 hours of reading for the #8intwo readathon. #staywithme #ayobamiadebayo #murdergames #jamespatterson #blitsy #blacklitsy #weekendreading
This was my first Ruth Ware book and it was ok...and frustrating. I switched between the audiobook and ebook patiently waiting for something to happen that would make me “yip.” Sadly, that didn‘t happen. The book didn‘t pick up for me until well after 62% and the “action” didn‘t start until the 75%-85% mark. I would recommend if you don‘t mind a fitfully slow burn of a book. #slowburn #LyingGame
I started the physical copy of this book last week but I find myself enjoying the audiobook more. The narrator alters her voice for each character and makes it easier for me to stay engaged in the story. I‘m liking it so far and will continue to listen. 😉
This beautiful cover has been calling my name. One chapter in and I can see myself possibly finishing this week. 🤞🏾 😉 #staywithme #ayobamiadebayo #naijaauthors #blitsy #blacklitsy
I‘m savoring the last 3 chapters. Jenifer is reading the book and it‘s been a pleasure from beginning to end. Very animated, emotional, and gives an in-depth look into her past and how it has sculpted her into the person we know her as today. ⚠️ WARNING⚠️ this book will cause you to LOL 😉
Well that was a 🎢. Get hip to this!! 😝 #thekindworthkilling #weekendreads #issavibe #shetoobad 😏
