Book 28/100 of the year.
I don‘t know why I continue to listen to these; I can‘t stand Lucy — she‘s an idiot. She jumps to conclusions, lies, keeps information from the cops, and meets alone with people she suspects of, if not murder, wanting to harm her. I also can‘t stand the Southern accent the narrator gives Connor. The story itself, about the history surrounding an old house Lucy & Connor buy, is interesting enough though.
Death by Beach Read was a fun and entertaining book that took me on a great virtual vacation

The 9th instalment featuring librarian Lucy Richardson. Lucy and her fiancé have moved into their new home, a historic cottage on the beach. Their home has a dark past which impacts their bright future when they find a body in the kitchen. This is one of my favourite cozy mystery series. Lucy and the eccentric supporting cast are a delight as usual. Thanks to NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Except for the ending where she did the dumbest thing ever to confront the murderer, this was a lot of fun the mysteries were fun and had good twists, nice to see most of the characters soften their edges, and the surprises with the house were fun.
