Anno Dracula: Johnny Alucard
Anno Dracula: Johnny Alucard | Kim Newman
2 posts | 3 read | 5 to read
Transylvania 1976 and the vampire Kate Reed is on the set of Francis Ford Coppolas troubled production of Dracula. Fallen from grace and driven from the British Empire, the Count himself seems long gone. A relic of the past. But when Kate helps a young vampire outcast begin a new life in America, a fresh monster is born. He reinvents himself as Johnny Pop and makes his name selling a dangerously addictive drug that confers vampire powers on its users. As Johnny stalks the streets of Manhattan and Hollywood, sinking his fangs ever deeper into the zeitgeist of 1980s America, it seems the past might not be dead after all

Book mail from last week. I‘ve read 3.

Anno Dracula by Kim Newman, signed 30th anniversary edition, red sprayed edges.

The Order by Jeremy Robinson has a hard cover that matches the dust jacket.

Atlas Six & Atlas Paradox are signed by the author. Paradox is bound upside down. Pretty sprayed edges. Illumicrate editions.

Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman. Jacketless hardcover edition with the paperback cover printed on the hardcover.

Bailedbailed

This makes me so sad because I LOVE Newman! This book was a disaster! Choppy, disjointed, and most of the fun characters, from the first 3 novels, were no longer there. A new villain was introduced, and while he was cool, it took WAY too long to get to him. 😭 Most of my Halloween books have been flops.

Not even ⭐️ but I will continue with the series.

ReadingOver50 That‘s disappointing. The cover looks great! 3y
StellaDz Honestly the whole series has amazing covers and that‘s what grabbed me with the first one! I‘m sticking with him despite this flop. The others have been ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3y
