Just starting this series, so far I'm enjoying it.

Pickpick

Okay first things first this book had a plot twist I did NOT see coming.
Secondly: I really struggled through this due to their real parents not knowing how to parent. Strive through this but and you‘ll get to a “WHAT THE HECK” moment that might be worth it all.
Thirdly: I wish they would have told us that everyone sans 1 is black. Cause I didn‘t imagine them that way and now it‘s hard to 😓. DESCRIPTIONS ARE IMPORTANT. *sighs* ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Loved Rosi.

TiffanyMichele But my faves are Bobo and the Missionary. I‘m kinda on the fence with everyone else. 5y
Mommamanzi I kind of got it from the hair description but yea.... really could have done a better job in the descriptive area. I got Asian decent for the missionary though... right? 4y
TiffanyMichele ... you know, I think you‘re right?? 🤭🧐... probably? This is why descriptions are so important 🤦‍♀️ 4y

Another #YA book that received many acquisition requests from kid & adults!!! This is also the first installment in a brand-new series. I hear this is quite suspenseful with plenty of tension. It takes place in a future dystopian world. Fitting in, belonging, the nature of reality seem to be important themes for the book. The plot surrounds a community of exiled kids being sent back "home". What's so mysterious about "home"? #TBRtemptation

Disappointing, her earlier works are much stronger. MC has no distinctive voice or qualities other than being "a good girl." Plot is basically if you took the kids from The Giver society and dropped them into a recovering war zone, was interesting until it became a Dr. Who wacky sci-fi in the last 30 pages. Reduced racism to eye color and nose shape. Better choices: her own Running Out Of Time or The Angel Factory by Terence Blacker. Read as ARC

Oh hello, book I haven't even started for my second week of ARC August. Yes, the week that ends on Sunday. But you look decently thin and your font is pretty big, so I think I can get you done.

Smrloomis Premise is interesting but whoa that cover is creepy. 8y
SaraFair My son read one by Haddix and really liked it. Sci fi? 8y
BookFreakOut @Smrloomis I liked the premise initially but then it took an abrupt turn and decided to be a sci-fi literally in the last 30 pages. Didn't jive well with me. I believe the hardcover only has one set of eyes, way less creepy! 8y
BookFreakOut @SaraFair This seems to be another a sci-fi series, I didn't enjoy it as much as some of her earlier books. My favorites are Running Out Of Time, Leaving Fishers and the earlier of the Among the Hidden books. 8y
Smrloomis Hmmm, I don't think I'd like that either. But good to know 😀 8y
