So, this little cutie is coming home at the latest 2/14. While learning how to take care of her I would still love to be able to read, at least for a little bit, every day. However, me and audiobooks do not really get along. Do any Litsy moms or dads have tips on how they still read while juggling parenthood?

DreesReads I always read while nursing, even at 2am! Babies are easy until they can move on their own 😜 (edited) 7y
britt_brooke Such an exciting time!! 💚 My kindle was my savior during night time feedings (especially when I was still breastfeeding). I had a case that would allow me to prop it up on the Boppy pillow. My reading slowed down when both of my sons were born, but I was sure to squeeze in time whenever possible even if it was just 10 minutes here and there. 7y
JoeStalksBeck Awww 👏👏👏👏👏👏 another little bookworm! 7y

JacqMac I read while mine were eating, too. Those 3am feedings were nice and quiet. You will find little bits of time here and there. Congratulations! 7y
Johanna414 Like already stated, the kindle is amazing for when you‘re up feeding in the middle of the night! As my little guy got older,I made a point of doing a little reading before bed and while he was napping. Keeps me sane! I don‘t know if you plan to go back to work or not, but currently I get most of my reading done during breaks and lunch at work. 7y
Simona I don‘t have any advice, but I want to wish you all the best with the baby and that you will be able to find energy and time for reading 😘 7y
Notmacaroniandcheese @Johanna414 @JacqMac @britt_brooke @AudreyMorris and others who read during middle of the night feeding? What did you do about lighting? I heard from my sister-in-law that turning on a bright lamp would make it harder for them to fall back asleep. Did you use a book light or are your kindles paperwhite? Thanks for your advice too! I‘m glad there are others out there with the same goals! It makes me feel like it is doable! :) 7y
Notmacaroniandcheese @Simona thank you so much for your encouragement! I‘m going to be very nervous during these final weeks and the well wishes definitely help! 💕 7y
DreesReads My kids are in high school, so there were no kindles when they were babies! I used a hall light outside the room I was nursing in (2 kids, 2 different houses, both had a good light!). A bright light also made it hard for me to fall back asleep lol! 7y
JacqMac No e-readers for me either. My youngest is 11. I used a very low wattage bulb in a little lamp. Like a nightlight. It‘s helpful to have a little light for diaper changing and such, too. 7y
Johanna414 I had a Paperwhite. 7y
britt_brooke @Notmacaroniandcheese I have a Paperwhite and just reduced to back lighting as much as I could. And you‘re gonna rock this mom thing. 💪🏻 Even if you‘re reading is reduced a bit at first, it‘ll pick back up. Now that my boys are 4 and 5, I read more than ever! (edited) 7y
