Another dark one finished for me today. I need something light. But, this was very good. It is such a heartbreaking work about sexual assault and I think what is really important about this story is how much emotion it shows. It goes through the guilt and pain and fear and confusion of rape and shows that it is okay to feel all of these things and to have a voice. Trigger warnings for sexual assault, but worthwhile if you can get past it.

I was hooked from the start and couldn't put the book down when I read it at the start of the year.

Stacey's story is truly powerful and I believe that everyone should read at least once, even if they are unsure about reading it. It is definitely a subject I believe should be addressed more and I feel this book however short did a good job at doing so.

I am anticipating the release of the sequel and gave this 5 stars!

Anne Cassidy's YA novel believably deals with the emotional trauma of a rape victim but is hampered by Stacey's soap opera style background, a jealousy storyline that didn't work in the context of the events but more importantly, it feels like only half the story and the ending is not particularly satisfying (which is part and parcel of the subject matter but still felt half-baked).
