My expectations were too high. Olga's dairy entries are boring/essential (I was on lunch, I'm riding, mother sleeps, etc.) and without historical background or explanation. The book becomes slightly more interesting barely halfway through with diary entries from tsar Nicholas and with memories from some friends. I would like but I can't recommend this book.

kspenmoll Sorry the book wasn't great. In my teens I was caught up in the mystery of Anastasia who it was rumored survived... 9y
Simona @kspenmoll This is a nonfiction book and it is poorly done. I expected some deep research/link between the diary entries and historical facts, but no, not in this book.😔 9y
