When a bookworm on borrowed time meets a younger, free-spirited chicken farmer, sparks and feathers fly...Harrison Phillip Fletcher, III isn't supposed to be here. Not in Burlington, Vermont, not running Vino & Veritas, a quaint inclusive bookstore and wine bar, and definitely not still alive, at forty-two. Also not supposed to be here? An unexpected delivery of chickens.Finn Barnes knows chickens. The burly organic farmer knows all about rare breed poultry, but dealing with a hot, older bookseller is an entirely different matter. City slicker types like Harrison never end up staying in Vermont for the long-term.They should steer clear of each other. But the flare of attraction is mutual. And somehow amid book discussions and farm tours, they discover plenty in common. Now they're stealing kisses in Finn's barn, sneaking out like teens, and burning up the sheets. What starts as a fling brings very real feelings for two lonely souls, but a future together seems as unlikely as chickens in a bookstore. Feathers may be flying, but learning to trust takes time neither may have. Can they take a leap of faith together before it's too late?Featherbed is a stand-alone novel in Sarina Bowen's World of True North. This opposites attract, age gap romance features a low-angst, fluffy-and feathery-romp as a fish out of water discovers the home he never thought he'd find.

Pickpick

Due to a mixed up delivery of a box of chicks, hot buttoned up Harrison Fletcher, newest owner of the Bar and Bookshop, will meet hot, pushes buttons, farmer Finn. One is afraid of dying, the other, afraid of giving his heart to someone who will just leave. This was nice but let me tell you. It stays on a low, low, simmer all the way throughout. This pot never boils. So even though it‘s a weaker entry in the Vino and Veritas series, still a pick.

CarolynM Reggie!!! How lovely to have you back❤️ Hope all is well in your world. I felt much the same as you about this one. I‘ve read a few in the Vino and Veritas series and they‘ve all been entertaining but I haven‘t found a really good one yet. 2y
Reggie @CarolynM Hi Carolyn! Thank you. I‘ve read 7 of them and I liked the one with the romance bookclub and the bookseller who was abandoned. And the one about the printer press, with the son who came back to help while his father chased the mom to Paris. 2y
Bookzombie Reggie! 🙂 I was going to say this cover reminds me of Sarina Bowen‘s True North series, but then I saw it‘s her press. Lol 2y

Reggie @Bookzombie I‘ve read 7in the series over the course of June because of Pride and they were the potato chips I needed. Lol 2y
Nutmegnc I‘ve read a LOT of this series and there are some really excellent reads in the bunch!! 2y
Reggie @Nutmegnc yeah, I really liked Headstrong, Heartscape, Booklover, and Turnabout. 2y
Nutmegnc @Reggie Undone #18 was a five star read for me 2y
Blerdgal_Fenix Insert chick magnet joke here 🤣 sorry I get a little cheesy after my second cup of earl grey. Stacking this, I am curious 🧐 (edited) 2y
Reggie @Blerdgal_Fenix 🥁 do-dum shhh Lolol this is a series and I think Roommate by Sarina Bowen, the first one in the series is wayyyyy better. But they are all standalone and if it‘s the 🐥 that got you hooked I hope you like it. Also because you mentioned santeria and orishas in your review from Pride. If you like scary stuff The Good House by Tananarive Due is amazing. 2y
Blerdgal_Fenix @Reggie will be adding to my list!! 2y
