It was graphic and gory and weird and original and I was hooked but I‘ll admit it‘s not for everyone.

Eric LaRocca has become a favorite author of mine this past year. That being said, if you've never read him, don't start with this one.

The plot was too sparse to keep me interested in between LaRocca's descriptive visceral horror.

That being said, I still love everything else of his I have read so I'll just pretend this never happened. 😂

I love the narrator. I love the idea. I love half the dialogue and description. But something just doesn't pull it through. I got 80% the way through and just...don't care to finish it.

“He wasn‘t sure to where he was headed — the moon, the stars, another planet, any place but home— but he knew for certain that it would be somewhere he could feel something.
“He wanted to hurt, and he wanted the feeling to last.”

Everything the Darkness Eats by Eric LaRocca is a dark and brutal supernatural thriller set in a town where small-minded hatred runs rampant.

With Eric‘s writing, you know he isn‘t going to shy away from the darkness. As I highlighted some content warnings above, please be prepared for various scenes that will make you flinch and want to rage over the horror of it all.

Out tomorrow!!! This was such a wild ride of a book. I feel like I say that about books all the time but this one truly is. You just have to see for yourself. Dark and twisted.
