They Were Here Before Us
They Were Here Before Us | Eric LaRocca
3 posts | 2 read | 1 to read
From the author of the viral sensation Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke comes They Were Here Before Us, a novella written in pieces, designed to be consumed as a single, thematically cohesive work. The only thing more brutal than nature is love.

Mehso-so

A short collection of short stories. I was able to read it all in about an hour. There is some graphic descriptions of death. Some of the stories are told from the point of view of bugs or birds. Overall it was interesting but I felt like something was missing. I didn't feel invested with any of the stories.

Pickpick

Picked this up on Halloween; very apt. Digesting each story slowly, halfway through. It‘s brutal horror via what happens to animals, insects, interactions with humans. Not for the squeamish. If you can get past the horror, much to think about connections of all living creatures on this lonely planet spinning in the dark.
