The gripping account of how the royal family really operates.
Who really runs the show and with Charles now crowned as king, what will happen next?

Bk2 of my NY #BookMail is one of a few new ones about the British Royal Family. As a citizen of a Commonwealth country, I‘ve always been fascinated with our “ruling” family, especially now with the death of QEII & the hijinks the current crop of royals are increasingly displaying. This one is about the power behind the throne, the “men in grey suits” Diana complained about, their history & what they‘ve been involved in since.

LeahBergen I have this one, too. 👍 9mo

How does the Royal Family keep everything under control? Things like handling the press, public engagements, and just general day to day operations of the Institution. Enter the Courtiers, the behind the scenes palace staff who assist in everything from advising to serving as the private secretaries for the senior members of the Royal Family. This is a fascinating look at how the role of courtier has changed throughout the generations.

LeahBergen I just received this one in the mail and I‘m looking forward to it! 2y

Thanks Book Depository! It got here from the UK just in time for me to take it with me on my trip tomorrow! Freaking late releases in the US…. (The UK cover is better anyway)

LeahBergen I just got this one, too! 2y
tpixie I seem to like UK covers better than USA. I wonder what that means? And how it‘s decided what‘s more appropriate for each country. 2y
tpixie Oh wow! The USA one is ugly! But is more recognizable as nonfiction 2y
