Little Black Crimes
Little Black Crimes: Stories | Nathaniel Blackhelm
1 post | 1 read | 1 to read
For the sinners and antiheroes in LITTLE BLACK CRIMES, the road to deliverance is paved with brutality, and chock-full of deadly twists and turns. Heavy are the crosses and crowns of these wayward souls, who wrestle with the pain of loss, the torment of lust, the burning need for retribution, redemption, power. Sparks and bullets fly in these tales of noir and terror that ignite the page, blazing their way into the pantheon of modern pulp. "Little Black Crimes is a debut collection both brutal and raw as an open wound, with tales of sordid souls that offer an unflinching look at the darkest corners of the human psyche. This is not fiction for the faint-of-heart, with prose that punches like Jim Thompson and confounds like a Ligotti nightmare. Blackhelm paints the windows black, chains the door and sets the whole house on fire. Be warned-you won't be the same after reading these stories." - Peter Farris, author of Last Call for the Living and The Devil Himself

Pickpick

These are beautifully written short stories.

The first-person writing is very clever, and I think anyone into psychological horror is going to really enjoy this collection.

The stories themselves are dark and horrific at times.

Not for the fainthearted.
