Friday night read. #libraryfind I have a dilemma. Libraries are like bookstores to me. I come home with way too many books to read! My dilemma is that I have so many books in my TBR & yet I keep getting more library books to read. Then I feel like I need to read them because they have a time limit. What‘s a reader to do?!!

pickThis is 4th in the Maggie D‘Arcy mystery/police procedural series about a Long Island homicide detective who has moved with her daughter to Dublin to live with her lover and his son. She has completed her Garda training and is assigned to a local neighborhood as a street cop. She is temporarily pulled into a murder case of a young model and her missing toddler. There are lots of suspects, twists and turns and a big surprise during the 🔽
pickThis is #4, but the 1st I‘ve read. It works fine as a standalone. I never felt like I was missing important background. The writing was decent, although there were little things that annoyed me, like the way every witness was described as “hiding something”, like the author tried too hard to create red herrings. The pacing was good. I didn‘t love it, but it‘s good enough that I‘ll read more of the series.
