The beginning of this legal thriller had perhaps too many characters and seemed overly complicated and I also would have liked more character development, but once the writing settled into the main part of the story it became quite entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed the evidence gathering process and the courtroom scenes. This is a debut novel and I liked it enough to look forward to more (perhaps a sequel) from this debut author. 3.75/5 stars!

I had mediocre hopes for this one, and I guess it delivered. The overall story wasn't bad, but parts were...messy. I don't have any specific complaints, but there's just issues that make this one only ok. 🤷‍♀️

Enjoying another thriller.

There‘s parts to this crime novel that draws on Comey‘s past as a lawyer to give authenticity to the storyline. I felt as though it‘s predictable and an array of stereotypical characters. However, this wouldn‘t be the first time that I wanted a bit more out of James Comey.

James Comey has written a fictional crime novel! It‘s a NYC mafia story - detailed and good. He based his protagonist on his daughter, a federal prosecutor in NYC. Oh Lordy, I hope there‘s more!
