This is the first book in a new series by J.D. Kirk. I loved his DCI Jack Logan series and was super excited to read this new one. Well I have mixed feelings on it. I never connected to the MC and I can't put my finger on why. The character was well done and development was good. Maybe I was unconsciously expecting something different. I did however love Ace. Anyway, it made me struggle to
TheSpineView Finish it. Then you get to the end and the twist just blew me out of the water. Never, ever saw that coming! The end was so good, it made me rethink the whole book and my rating. If the ending had been different it would have been 3 stars, instead it is a solid 4 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 2y
