This was an enjoyable, entertaining read. We have Iris once happily married with a good job lovely home and a family in her near future until recently when her husband has left her, she is renting out her spare room to help with her finances and her job is becoming mundane. Iris's nemesis is Maddy a successful social media influencer with the perfect marriage. Written in Jane's signature style of humour, cleverness and with a good dose of revenge.

Gosh. Hardest ‘easy book‘ the protagonist Iris stumbles across (on social media) the woman she thinks responsible for the breakup of her marriage… except now there is no sight of her (ex)husband. What there is however is a growing social media presence.,, 2 kids and a husband who is NOT Iris‘ex. Shenanigans follow. So many feelings about this. Iris is clearly hurting and does something terrible. That being said let‘s thread below 🧵

Itchyfeetreader Despite all of her terrible things (and there is plenty there) iris is also really hurting. In a different world she would have had children, in this one her closest friends are finding new connections without her because of young children of the same age and she is clearly very lonely. And her loneliness was written in a way that made me hurt. Iris sadness and efforts to fix it will stay with me (edited) 9mo
