⭐⭐This book was about not particularly nice people entangled in awkward relationships.Usually I find these books can be done quite well and keep me engaged throughout with wittiness and banter between the characters, this one just didn't quite hit the mark for me. It gets messy and it stays pretty messy. I found Frances's self centredness to becoming more and more annoying and I just didnt really gel with any of the characters. It was an ok read,

⭐⭐⭐A good, well written thriller, it tells the story of notorious serial killer Ed Finch known as the classified killer who killed seventy six young woman around the bay area of San Francisco during the 1980‘s and 1990‘s. Told from 2 POV's Margot's and Ed's we get to relive the crimes he committed through his eyes and also see how Margot is investigating some current murders whilst managing her feeling about her father and her past.

⭐⭐⭐⭐This book had a lot going on and not in a bad way,it had me looking every which way for clues as to what was really going on.There is a haunted house, creepy townspeople,a missing woman who also stayed where Grace is now staying, animal attacks,a dysfunctional family, crazy exes and also a one night stand.I couldn't trust anyone and that just heightened the tension in it for me, at some stage I had suspected everyone by the end of this book.

⭐⭐⭐⭐Such a delightful read.Recently single,thirty-year-old gay Domenic (Dom) is an anxious mess and stuck between his best friends, the hypermasculine Patrick and his fiancé,the ultrafeminine Kate.I was caught up in Dom's life and found the writing endearing, captivating, and witty.A perfect mix of fun moments along with some wonderful deep conversations between people who really care about each other. It was so much more than “just“ a rom/com.

This book gripped me from the start, your child is kidnapped and the only way you can get them back is if you kidnap another child. It explores the darkest places people will go and how their moral code will be tested and compromised for the love of their child. A dark, thriller read that shows the sinister side of some people which I always o fascinating. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Another lovely read from Jenny Colgan.Morag comes from a family of pilots after a close call with another plane,Morag is shaken and can't bring herself to fly again. Such endearing likeable characters I found myself fondly reading along and hoping for only the best for Morag. Even though I couldn't relate to the pilot side of things, we have all lost our self confidence at some stage in life and tried to get it back.⭐⭐⭐⭐

Sadly I found it kind of just didn't hit the mark for me.I found it dragged on from the friends 20 years later perspective as he reminisces about their childhood days and it seemed to go over a lot of details that just weren't relevant to the main plot and not in a leading your mind one way for a plot twist kind of way but in a what does this even have to do with things annoying kind of way. ⭐⭐

After being assaulted outside her home, Laura becomes Agorahobic. Her partner Jim suddenly goes missing,he was her enabler. This was an interesting read, watching Laura grapple with her Agoraphobia whilst trying to locate Jim.I started to get an inkling of what may be going on but the exact whys and hows as Jim explains them left me not disliking him as much as I had started to. I would describe it as more of a mystery read than a thriller.⭐⭐⭐

One of my favourite reads of this year! Beverly loves reading, she has anxiety and is socially awkward, her joys in life are her books, her parents and her homeless friend Bill. This book was such a delightful read, I was captivated by Beverly and her world, for me she was a very relatable character.Once I had finished it, I felt like I had gained yet another fictional friend and I know pieces of this book will always stay with me.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I have loved every JP Delaney book I have read so far, this one whilst still a good read its wasn't the usual compelling thriller I have come to expect from JP,it was more of a slow burn type and I just don't usually rate slow burn thrillers as highly as I want a thriller to grab me from at least the first 2 chapters and hold me captive and almost holding my breath until the ending.Life is short,I need my thrillers to be compelling and haunt me.

For 300 pages, Alex drifts from person to person on Long Island after being kicked out by the older man she‘s been living with. I kept reading hoping it would eventually become more than it was for me but sadly I felt like nothing really happened in the book at all really. I can see from looking on Goodreads there are quite a few 5 star and 4 star ratings so maybe its just one of those “not for me type of reads“ or I missed what was going on.
