I went into it blind as I prefer to do and what unfolded was a rather quirky read that didn't feel quite romancey more booklover contemporary- if there even is such a genre. I loved the nods to some of the classic books along the way. I enjoyed that the ending wasn't a typical romance ending but that it was also very satisfying and felt very fitting. An engaging read for anyone who likes a quirky kind of bookish romance theme.⭐⭐⭐

A seamless blend of horror/supernatural thriller, mystery, domestic suspense, and psychological thriller. To say I was captivated by just what was going on in this house would be an understatement I was fully engaged in it from start to its amazing and very satisfying ending. How Carissa managed to weave this book together with these themes and still blow my mind! An atmospheric, darkly disturbing, haunting read in all the very best of ways.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Shari Lapena took me down some forked roads but by the conclusion of this book,I was shocked but very satisfied by how the story all wove together.A cast of several characters, they were all easy to keep straight with the signature, short addictive chapters.I loved the mixed media element of the True crime facebook group posts, I felt like they really help add to the atmosphere and the storyline.A fast paced read that I couldn't put down.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I was drawn to this book on the title and cover art alone. As someone who loves all things library and books this was such a fun and engaging read. I was very invested in just how things would turn out for Oliver. A witty read with very likeable characters. Not just for Middle grade readers, this book was a charming and captivating read, I loved every minute of being in Oliver's world.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Starting off my witchy era of October with a heartfelt contemporary witchy read, this book weaves a charming slow burn supernatural romance along with journeys of self discovery. Along with the slow burn romance, this book also tackles psychological and emotional abuse, exploitation, and personal healing with sensitivity and relatability. I loved the interspersed humour from Becca it was a magical and very enjoyable read.⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was such a more emotive read than I was expecting ,our main character,Gia had previously left her home town in a somewhat cloud of shame after she had reported her favourite teacher for crossing boundaries with her when she was his student. How the story unfolds from there and how the truth of her claims eventually comes to light to all living in the town was so well written and moving I couldn't get enough of reading this book.⭐⭐⭐⭐

A raw and at times heartbreaking read. Katharine explores the more often than not toxic relationship she had with her mother throughout her childhood and into adulthood and how her mother also manipulated her into not having much of a relationship with her father also. Through it all we see how more than anything Katharine just wants love and acceptance from her mother and a better relationship with her father.⭐⭐⭐

A captivating, spooky novella it was too addictive to put down. For a novella, it certainly wasn't short on creepiness and tension. This thriller packed a punch way above its 98 pages weight. It was a hypnotic, eerie, captivating read that I was fully invested in from start to finish. Whilst I have yet to be disappointed by a Lisa Unger book, this was was so twisty and shocking, Lisa Unger hit it out of the park with this one.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

What unfolded was a dark and yet still in some aspects hopeful read, despite the dark and emotive subject matter. The home for wayward girls is where young girls are sent when they have “gotten themselves into trouble“ by falling pregnant and being unwed. The way the book was written, I found myself emotional at times thankfully the witchcraft elements provided some relief to the harrowing ordeals of these girls. A very enjoyable read. ⭐⭐⭐

An unnerving and eerie read that left me apprehensive about the future of mankind and our growing dependence on artificial intelligence in our lives. For a short story this thriller packed quite a punch and was able to evoke in me the feelings of uneasiness, that I love when reading a thriller. Written with short punchy chapters, its easily a sit down and read in one sitting kind of thriller- which is just what you need sometimes. ⭐⭐⭐

After reading the synopsis, writers retreat, haunted house, murderer lurking, locked room mystery it had me dying to plunge into it.It felt too slow of a burn for me and I only got interested in it once a plot twist was revealed but by that stage I was so far into the book I was determined to finish it, given that I had seen so many other readers give it 4 and 5 stars. It just didn't have the atmospheric feel for me that I was expecting.⭐⭐
