Bone Deep: Untangling the Betsy Faria Murder Case | Charles Henry Bosworth, Joel Schwartz

The fact that this was an actual murder.that due to some sub par investigative work an innocent man was initially incarcerated for the murder of his wife was beyond disturbing. To then read how the actual murderer wasn't even considered to be a suspect for such a long time was just gob smacking to me. Especially given how it is revealed that her own mother also died under suspicious circumstances. A well written, informative true crime read.⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thanks to #netgalley for the ARC. As an avid reader, I am drawn to books about books and bookish people. This memoir was a perfect read for me. I enjoyed how Zibby relived her story so far and shared with us her ups, downs and the books that she was reading during each of these times in her life and how they helped support her through the challenging times and celebrate with her during the happiest of times. A thoroughly enjoyable read, it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I have yet to find a Mary Kubica book that I don't devour, this one didn't disappoint either. Missing women and a child, the child returns to the town they went missing from, nothing seems quite right and it isn't. I loved the multiple points of view and dual time lines, they kept me on edge and not able to put this book down easily.Twisty,it had me caught up in it from the very beginning until the last page and I am still thinking about it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I didn't realise it was a "cosy" mystery and how I felt about this book could just mean that Cosy mysteries aren't for me. It felt like there wasn't a whole lot happening throughout most of the book, it didn't grab my attention and I didn't like any of the characters either. One of those books you finish and immediately forget what you have read. Maybe it's the cosy mystery genre that just isn't for me. ⭐

No other self help book I have read has reasonated with me as much as this one has. This book delves into what made us who we are today. I always knew that our childhood developmental stages and our experiences during these stages determines who we become and how we deal with life's challenges and experiences in our adult life. A truly life changing read, if you read any self help book this year, I highly recommend it be this one.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Who isn't a fan of this gorgeous man?! Rhetorical question I know. This book was everything I was hoping it would be, I loved hearing Leslie's memories told to us in ways only he can. I read every word with his Southern accent in my head. This book was such a pick me up read. I particularly found the story about him wanting a doll for Christmas heartwarming. I hope he writes more books 😍 it was such a fun read ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

What can I say?! When I started this book I was thinking, this isn't really a thriller, it's a lady going for a job interview, what can be suspenseful about that?! I was so wrong! It was an absolute delight to read from start to finish, yes the premise was a little sad in that the 2 children needed a family member to take them in and care for them but oh the fun they had together. If I wasn't smiling whilst reading this I was literally laughing at some of the moments, the characters all felt very authentic and I loved Guncle Patrick so much. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A charming collection of poems and vignettes on the unconditional love, devotion, and joy our dogs bring us. I was laughing at some of them and dabbing my eyes at others. Highly recommend for dog lovers or anyone who doesn't quite understand dog lovers and is curious as to why we are so obsessed with our dogs. A heartwarming reminder of how much love and joy our dogs give us and how many lessons they can teach us about life. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A thriller with an unusual premise, I loved it, it was dark, interesting and I definitely found myself laughing at some of the dark humour in this book. It was a fascinating read about obsessions, connection and even love. It was one of those reads where I was instantly drawn in by all of the characters and their stories. Such a different take on most of the thrillers out there today, it was also unpredictable in the best of ways. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
