Elfie: Season 2
Elfie: Season 2 | Gabrielle DuBois
2 posts | 1 read
London, 1865. At the end of Season 1, Angus and Elfie were fleeing Paris— Angus threatened by an ex-lover and Elfie by her would-be father-in-law. Their freedom is more precarious than ever, especially for Elfie after Angus reveals his terrible secret and she personally endures the repercussions. Come along on this passionate journey filled with engaging characters and meticulously researched for historically accuracy— an adventure that speaks of freedom for men, for homosexuals, and above all for women. And as a special treat, ink drawings accompany each chapter, in the style of historical 19th century novels.

Pickpick

Another exciting adventure story in the Elfie series. It wears its meticulous historical research lightly - I especially appreciated the brief summary of the Irish potato famine....

arlenefinnigan Elfie is a really strong engaging character, but her travels in season 2 highlight how young and vulnerable she is. There's encouraging a young woman to embrace life, and there's being a creepy older man taking advantage of an unequal power dynamic. I look forward to seeing where her next adventures take her, if a little apprehensively. The drawings, again, are beautiful. 1y
