The Bunyans | Audrey Wood

“The gargantuan father scooped out a huge hole in the middle of the riverbed. As the great river roared down into the deep hole. Teeny cried out in delight. “Niagara Falls“ Teeny showered in the waterfall and the pesky bears were washed downstream“

I think students would really enjoy reading this because it is just so bizarre that they would find it really funny. They may even try to argue that no one can do the things done in the book but it would be a great tall tale to teach that everyone can do great things.

Pickpick

“The Buyans“ can be classified as a tall tale because every aspect of the plot is something so unfathomable that it makes it comical. From the characters just being massive, to begin with, and then each different part of the story where they either make Old Faithful just so they can wash their clothes, or bathe in Niagra Falls because it's the only amount of water that can cover Teeny (the Bunyans daughter).
