“Kitty says she never calls Faye ‘Faye,‘ she always calls her ‘Fay.‘”
“What?” “She says she always calls her ‘Fay‘ without the extra ‘e.‘”
“They sound alike, ‘e‘ or no ‘e.‘” “Kitty says Faye knows.”
Quirky, funny, murdery, spicy…so much fun.

The return of Jennifer Crusie brings a fun cozy romantic mystery.
Strengths of this book - trademark sassy banter and a great main character in Liz Danger. This also builds a fun small town location with several fun side characters.
Weakness - the cop hero feels out of a 90‘s romance and I did not 100% feel chemistry between the characters. I could see this character improving and I liked everyone else enough to check out more in the series. 4⭐️
I've always loved Jennifer Crusie books, and the collaboration with Bib Mayer just worked, for no discernible reason. So when I realized there was a new series written by the two of them, I was absolutely excited and had to pick them up immediately. The first one did not disappoint. It's not deep or wildly intellectual, but it definitely satisfies the entertainment factor. Excited for book 2. #49-2023
