Always fun when a book on your wishlist pops up in your neighborhood Little Free Library! I feel like this will come in handy in those (many) moments when I don‘t really need a recipe but could use a little inspiration re: using up something in my fridge/garden/pantry.

Some friends and I are doing this thing on Facebook where we recommend books we love. I chose this one today because it's one of the best kitchen reference books I've ever seen. If you have an ingredient and you don't know what flavors compliment it, just look it up here. They will give you a list of flavors that compliment and enhance the flavor of your ingredient. I am absolutely evangelical about this one

Tamra I will check it out - sounds like a really good reference. 5y

#GetMovin #Levels

There are levels to being a confident cook, starting with being able to follow a recipe & have it turn out well. The next level is adapting recipes to make them work for your needs or taste even better. The highest level is having the confidence to create your own recipes. Experience & trial & error are what gets you there, but these books on flavor combinations really helped take my confidence in cooking to the next level.🥄📚

laurieluna I've just started getting recipe boxes to boost my cooking confidence. Both recipes have gone amazingly so far (granted they send out all the ingredients ready measured and an easy to follow recipe). Stacked the vegetarian one for when I want to dip my toes with some own recipe experimentation! 😄 6y
Cinfhen So true!! I‘m still at the beginners level 😉😘 6y

An awesome reference for the FoodNetwork amateur to the seasoned chef. The introductory pages on how taste buds work serve as a solid foundation for the flavor pairings. This is an essential book for anyone who likes to play in the kitchen!

jeff 👍Great rec - going to pick this up this weekend. What do you think of Ottolenghi? 8y
Sabelli I think that the flavors are bold and unique. That said, like most restaurant cookbooks, the recipes are difficult to replicate and often make for frustrated home chefs. 8y
