pickI read this at the suggestion of some of our librarians as we work to promote reading as a desirable leisure activity on our college campus. It is a collection of perspectives and approaches for meeting our goal & it gave us some new ideas. Some of the ideas can be used in high school. I thought my Litsy friends would relate to this quote: "...social isolation depresses readership & social involvement encourages it" (p. 49). #teachersoflitsy
#septphotochallenge - Workplace Books. I teach on the quarter system, so we don't start fall classes until the end of the month. In the meantime, I have all these books at home to help me prep some new classes & do my own PD. The 3 in front are the books I'm spending the most time on right now. My department is required to read the ELL book & I am helping with a campus initiative to help promote reading for pleasure. #teacherlife
