I didn‘t care for the self help aspect of this book but I love listening to her books, so I give a Pick to the audiobook.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I really loved this, and her memoir prior. They are both more personal than her others - she‘s published 6! - yet still outwardly funny and rife with dark humor. A theme of gratitude runs through this personal essay collection, which covers Covid times, our re-emergence from solitude, becoming the woman she has always strived to be; someone she can be proud of. A must-read for Chelsea fans! This has sparked a reread of her backlist.

Entertaining and heartfelt! I‘ve been a fan of Chelsea Handler for a long time, and her evolution has been such a joy. In this book, she shares how she is working hard to be the woman she dreamed she would become when she was a little girl. Are you on track to become the person you‘ve always longed to be? She seems to only be getting more authentic, thoughtful, confident, generous, and wise with time. 🎧
If you‘re not a person whose kept up with Chelsea lately (ba dum swish), I‘d recommend watching her comedy special “Evolution” before reading this book. It shows you her headspace.
This book is not what I expected in that there isn‘t a lot of Handler‘s dark, suggestive humor. Instead, it feels more like an honest journal of someone attempting to let go and let love steer. It‘s admirable and depending on where you‘re also at in life, relatable.
About to finish my book club pick so figured I‘d start this memoir from NetGalley to help get the ol‘ ratio up.
I was a fan of Chelsea‘s talk shows in the early 2010‘s - especially when I first moved to NYC. I even saw her live. I‘m getting the vibe that this memoir is a bit more serious in tone and less sarcastic. We shall see!
