The Boyfriend Mess
The Boyfriend Mess | Francine Pascal, Jamie Suzanne
1 post | 1 read
Valentine's Day at SVMS has everyone seeing red! It's Valentine's Day and Sweet Valley is being treated to the dance of the decade, courtesy of "Young Love, the hottest dating game show on TV. But although the music is cool and the decorations are great, the couples at the dance are totally bizarre. Jessica Wakefield and her identical twin, Elizabeth, switched identities for the dating game. Now Jessica's trapped in a date with her sister's sort-of-boyfriend, Todd Wilkins, who doesn't even suspect that he's with the wrong girl! Janet Howell is stuck with super geek Donald Zwerling, thanks to "Young Love. Maria Slater is actually psyched to be with Patrick Morris, but he only has eyes for Sophia Rizzo. Everyone's with the wrong partner! Can they find true romance before this night to remember becomes a night to forget?

Pickpick

Picking up right from where THE BOYFRIEND GAME left off, it‘s the 5th #SweetValleyValentinesDay and the winning couples are headed to Dizzy Planet while the rest of the school prepares for the dance that night. Still twin-switched, Liz overhears a Young Love employee mention cheating, so she sneaks into the park (Sophia Rizzo separately does the same!) to warn that their schemes may have been uncovered & will ruin the dance! More fights & fun!

Soscha I‘d aged out of these when they came out in the mid 80s +. Is it worth going back and reading now? I am slowly trying to read the Stine & Pike YA horror from roughly the same time period. Rather ridiculous but banana pants entertaining reads. 4d
TorieStorieS @Soscha I also aged out of the later books so the endings of these series have been all new to me and I‘m having just as much fun reading as re-reading, honestly! I mean, they are silly but it‘s been so fun! Re-reading old horror sounds so fun, too! I think I‘m going to do Nancy Drew after this, but maybe I‘ll do the Fear Street books after that!! 4d
