Third Girl | Nell Goddin

Meet Molly Sutton, 38 years old and out of work, who moves to a village in France to recover from the end of her marriage. She's looking for peace, beautiful gardens, and pastry-a slower, safer life than the one she'd been living outside of Boston. But you know what they say about the best intentions... Molly has barely gotten over jet-lag before she hears about a local student's disappearance. In between getting her old ramshackle house in order and reveling in French food, Molly ends up embroiled in the case, along with the gendarmes of Castillac. And unlike the Nancy Drews she loved as a child, this mystery stirs up emotions she thought had been put to rest..and terrifies the residents of her beloved village.

My bedtime listening is this bonus borrow from Hoopla, meaning it doesn‘t count toward the number you‘re limited to borrowing each month. This author is new to me, but I thought I‘d try it. It‘s the first in a series of mysteries set in a small French village.

Pickpick

This was the first in a series that I do believe I will continue to read (or listen to, as it were). It's a cozy police procedural that delivered on both grit, as well as warm fuzzies in the form of delicious descriptions of French pastries and coffee. #MorePlease

DebinHawaii I saw this one on net galley and was going back and forth. I may have to get it now! 👍😀 8y
DebinHawaii Or maybe not because I think after reading the description I was looking at a different book with the same title! 😬 8y
Chocamanda @DebinHawaii I got this one on sale through Amazon. The Ebook was $0.99 and the audiobook was $1.99. I think it's worth it 😊 8y
Chocamanda Correction: the kindle version is free! 8y
DebinHawaii @Chocamanda Yes--this one sounds worth getting. I have been on a thriller run lately and a more cozy mystery sounds nice & the one on NetGalley doesn't sound quite so cozy. 😉👍 8y
